Middlesex County GOP Update August 9

Written and distributed since 2003 by Donald Katz, Esq., Republican State Committeeman for Middlesex County and Counsel, Middlesex County Republican Organization

MIDDLESEX COUNTY REPUBLICANS ARE ON COLUMN B

At the drawing held on Monday, August 9th, by the Middlesex County Clerk, it was determined that the Republicans would be on Column B of the ballot in the November 2nd election.

Remember “Column B for the Best Candidates”!

CANDIDATE REPLACEMENT CONVENTION SUCCESSFULLY SELECTS CANDIDATES.  COUNTY SLATE NOW SET

The MCRO held a Candidate Replacement Convention on July 28th at the Grace Reformed Church Fellowship Hall in Edison, which was filled with county committee members from throughout the county.

As previously reported, due to a confluence of events, needed to formally nominate replacements for our candidate for Surrogate, one of our candidates for County Commissioner (full term), our candidate for County Commissioner (unexpired term), and, in the 19th Legislative District, our candidate for State Senate.

Chhavi Dharayan, from Edison was selected to replace our County Surrogate candidate, Lisa Goldhamer, who got a new job that did not allow her to run for office.  Gerald T. Shine, also from Edison, formerly out candidate for County Commissioner (unexpired term), was selected to run for County Commissioner (full term), replacing former Edison Councilman Wayne Mascola, who has moved out of the county.  Joellen Arrabito, from Monroe, was selected to run for the County Commissioner (unexpired term) slot left vacant by Gerald T. Shine’s move.   These candidates will join Patricia Badovinac, from Piscataway, the other County Commissioner (full term) candidate, who was officially elected in the June primary election, to now complete the full countywide Republican slate for November.

In addition, Pedro “Peter” Pisar, of South Amboy, was selected at the convention to run for State Senate tin the 19th Legislative District replacing, Christian Onuoha, who was not able to run for the position.

FREE NAMETAGS FOR REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES IN MIDDLESEX COUNTY AVAILABLE

As previously reported, and as I have done for a number of years, I will be happy to make nametags for any Republican candidate running on the Republican line for public office in Middlesex County who wants one – for free.  I have already made and distributed candidate nametags to most of the candidates who were on the ballot in the recent primary election, but there were also a number of candidates who were nominated by write-in vote who have not yet received a nametag.

If there is interest, their GOP municipal chair should send me an e-mail with the candidates’ information – including exactly the way each candidate wants his or her name on the nametag, plus his or her e-mail address, (and address and phone number), so I can add them to my e-mail newsletter list, and I will prepare the nametags.

OFFER OF 100 FREE METAL SUPPORTS FOR REPUBLICAN LAWN SIGNS

Krishna Jagannathan, a former local Republican candidate in Plainsboro, has offered to donate 100 metal lawn sign supports to any Republican campaign that might need or want them.  He writes: “I have about 100 metal lawn sign “supports” I’d love to donate to an upcoming campaign – anyone. I seem to remember that they were the most expensive part of ordering lawn signs.” The sign supports are 8″ wide by 24″ tall, in double-H layout.  If you are interested, please contact Krishna directly at krisjag@gmail.com or at 908-867-8325 and leave a message.
